Canine Connections philosophy is based on positive, praise-based training techniques building a foundation of communication with a holistic approach to the dog-human relationship, a relationship nurtured through trust, respect and gentle leadership.
Our mission is to help dogs and their human partners attain a mutual understanding through compassionate training methods.
Problem solving solutions and plans are tools that are used to help with these relationships. Along with group lessons at various levels and individualized private instruction, we also offer unique training programs for specialized needs. In addition, we have week long dog training vacations available here in the Brevard, North Carolina area.
Nan is an AKC Canine Good Citizen evaluator, a member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers and has qualified for and applied for the Certified Council for Professional Dog Trainers - KA exam. She is a supporting member of the International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants, a member of Doggone Safe and a "Be A Tree" presenter and is always continuing to learn through additional formal education.
Nan brings many years of experience and training with equines and dogs along with a life long love of communicating with animals to her dog program. She also spends time volunteering with a therapeutic horseback riding program, presenting dog bite safety programs to schools and helping local shelter dogs.
